Capcom is on the lookout for which older fighting games that aren’t playable on modern hardware that fans would like to see re-released, they said in a recent interview with Famitsu.
While Capcom added that they’ll look to release things based on the extent possible, there are more older fighting game titles that aren’t available on current gaming machines that they’d like to see re-released in the future.
In the piece with Famitsu, the interviewer says that since they released the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection on September 12, 2024, it feels like Capcom has ran out of flagship titles to port over, and then they ask if they have any more games they’re hoping to bring over with more arcade collections like these.
“Capcom still has many fighting games that aren’t playable on modern hardware,” said Shuhei Matsumoto, the producer for Street Fighter 6 and Capcom Fighting Collection 2.
“We’ll be listening to the voices of our fans who play our games and, to the extent that it’s possible, we want to offer an environment for you to play them,” concluded Matsumoto.
