Blood Bowl 3 continues to hover somewhere between life and death, receiving a season pass update every three months, including a new team. Following the addition of the Shambling Undead last season, Season 4 brings us an Agility team: Wood Elves.
In previous tabletop editions of Blood Bowl, the Wood Elves were top contenders, and while they've slipped a bit in the rankings since then, there are still reasons to choose them. Reason number one is that they're really good at picking up and passing the ball, if you're the kind of crazy person who prefers to win a match by scoring points rather than killing the opponent – although their Wardancers and especially Treemen are capable of that Cause harm if they get the chance.
A weakness of teams like the Wood Elves was how expensive their players were. They broke quickly and cost a lot of money to replace. This means that if you were to partner with a power team right off the bat, you could easily have trouble affording replacements for injured or dead players. One way to get around this is to play in Resurrection mode, a format where teams reset their lineups after each game, which was also added to Blood Bowl 3 as part of Season 4.
The Sticky notes Mention the addition of custom teams and optimizations like “Various minor AI improvements.” There is also a new one Roadmap for 2024, with an overview of this year's upcoming seasonal updates. What's frustrating is that crossplay has been pushed back to Season 5, which begins on June 11, after being promised in the previous roadmap as an addition to Season 3 in November last year. And if, like me, you've been waiting for the Eternal Leagues to return so you don't have to keep starting new ones, they won't be available until Season 7 in December.
