Eden Crafters is a survival, crafting and automation game due out this year that will take you into a hostile world as you know it and challenge you to turn it into a paradise for humanity. To do this, you'll need to build an infrastructure that produces, houses, and powers the machines you need for exploration, prospecting, and ultimately terraforming.
Aside from the gameplay seemingly inspired by Satisfactory and Co., Eden Crafters has one big trick up its sleeve: the world you play in is made up of voxels. This means players can alter landforms, level terrain, and build hills or valleys.
Eden Crafters will be single-player or cooperative and is scheduled to release sometime in 2024.
The game features a fairly large open world, measuring around 144 km² or 55.5 m², and requires you to terraform the whole damn thing. “Moderate the climate, create a breathable atmosphere and turn toxic lakes into water: create a new world!” says the description.
Eden Crafters clearly holds some appeal for players, with comments on social media astutely comparing the concept to Satisfactory combined with The Planet Crafter, adding the power to change the landscape – a potentially powerful combination of two quite successful games with a fan-favorite feature. The gifs that developer Osaris has on its Steam page are pretty slick, showing some nice transitions as large-scale terraforming changes the landscape.
You can find Eden Crafters on Steam and on developers Osaris Games website. Eden Crafters is the second release from Osaris Games following first-person voxel city builder Technicity.
