In January, Blender Studio, the creative division behind the open-source Blender project, announced the start of development on Project DogWalk, a video game built with the Godot Engine. Designed as a small interactive storytelling experience in a papercraft style, the project aims to establish a smooth and efficient pipeline between Blender and Godot, streamlining asset and level creation.

While Blender Studio is now firmly recognized for its work in animated films, with two short films already planned for 2025, Project DogWalk is being positioned as a “micro game.” The team defined it as a single-setting playtime centered around one main mechanic, extended through replayability and player expression, and supported by a reusable and modular asset library.
