I don't want to die in an insect-infested hellscape for nothing. If I keep getting murdered in Helldivers 2, I better get a big stack of medals. However, such rewards weren't exactly flowing in as one of the biggest sources, daily personal orders, wasn't working.
These daily challenges have been somewhat questionable for many Helldivers since their release. There are countless reports of them not handing out medals after completion, not making updates, or simply not showing up at all. Another casualty of the game's huge population and resulting server issues. However, at the end of last month, they seemed to disappear for everyone.
Daily Personal Orders aren't the only way to get medals, of course, but they are one of the best ways to get a big stack of them. There's nothing better than completing a mission that just earned you a few medals and then realizing you've also completed a challenge, earning you another 15. Time to go shopping!
To be honest, as much as I love the game, I've been playing it a lot less recently because those dailies have really motivated me to check in every day – without that push, other games, like Last Epoch, have managed to slip through in my heart. Sorry Helldivers 2, I'm a mercenary, not a patriot.
The good news is that the medal drought will soon be over. “Starting tomorrow at 9 a.m. CET, daily orders will be back online,” says a Discord announcement posted today. I just jumped in and actually already have one with 16 hours left to kill 100 enemies with an Eagle Strafing run. I confirmed that Helldiver 2 fanatic Harvey has the same thing. Judging by the Discord, we're not alone. However, they may not work for everyone or the current version is still a bit buggy, so you may want to wait until tomorrow.
