If you thought Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League's four playable villains already had a lot to offer, then get ready for the expansion of Task Force X. Rocksteady plans to add four new characters with updates over the next year release, with Joker already announced as the first to release in March. Thanks to a slip-up from Brainiac himself, we now have a good idea of who the second recruit will be.
In one Clip shared by ZeronityPlays on Reddit, a Harley player is defeated by a brute, triggering an antagonistic Brainiac voice seemingly directed at an unheralded villain: “I didn't expect you to be the weak link in this chain, Freeze.” .” “
Oops.
Sounds like the famous Batman villain Mr. Freeze, or at least a version of Freeze, is on the way. Technically, all post-launch characters in Suicide Squad will come from Elseworld versions of Earth, which explains why we get a vaudeville-inspired Joker with a rocket umbrella despite being all but dead in the Arkham series is. Mr Freeze's suggestion is also consistent with a leak from Twitter user Miller Ross, who claims that this version of Mr. Freeze is actually a woman named Victoria Fries (presumably pronounced like “Freeze,” not “French Fries”).
Am I crazy or did Brainiac just call me Freeze? out of r/SuicideSquadGaming
Since getting around Metropolis is half as fun as Suicide Squad, all I can think about is what Freeze's traversal trick might be. A simple solution would be some sort of ice jetpack, but personally I hope Freeze runs over icy ramps that create them on the fly. It would be especially cool if other teammates could then use these ramps as platforms to gain speed or reset their movement cooldowns.
Since Freeze seems like a lock, it's worth considering the rest of Ross' leaked cast: Lawless from Season 3, a somewhat obscure character who was in the Suicide Squad during World War II, and Deathstroke from Season 4. I know not what to think of Lawless, but DeathStroke sounds like a good move if Rocksteady can properly differentiate him from Deadshot.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Season 1 begins in March.
